I use the full form for all 5 day MDS' and the MPAF for all 14 day
assessments. If a patient leaves before day 14, I enter the 5 day as an
MPAF and even that saves alot of time. At this point in time I think it is
too confusing to try and keep track of using the MPAF for the 5 day
assessment, but that is just me, and my setting. I too am from a hospital
based SNF, 26 beds, but our LOS is longer. For when I use it, it is soo
worth it. If it is working for you keep on using it..........

I'm the MDS Coor for a 27 bed hosp based SNF in Ohio with a 7-10 day LOS. We
use the MPAF form for all 5 day PPS assessments. We have been doing this
since the MPAF was ready for use. We have a consultant here stating that
MPAF is difficult to use, causes lots of problems. I would like to know what
others are doing. There are 3 of us here that have been doing the MDS for
years. And with averaging over 100 assessments a month the MPAF has been a
life savor.Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Barb
