1) Analog TV sends audio and video in the same data stream. DTV separates them. 2) Digital frame rates are slightly different than analog frame rates because digital has to round numbers off to an exact binary number. So mixing analog and digital can be tricky. So with analog we didn't have to be careful to keep things in sync.
