Dates for analog phones, onstar and the like (even some automatic
garaqe doors) is February 18/19, 2008 and for broadcasting is
February 19, 2009. After 2/2009, one will need a box to run an
analog TV.
This was part of the coupon discussion earlier. Fox5 (DC) now has a
link on their site to download the coupon.
Direct link:

Coupon direct link:
https://www.dtv2009.gov/
And from the Fox 5 site:
TV Converter Box Coupon Program Website
As you may well know, by Feburary of 2009, all TV stations will be
broadcast Digitally and if you get your TV though an antenna you'll
no longer receive a picture without a converter box. And to help,
the government is giving away coupons!
To request a coupon, consumers can apply online at
http://www.dtv2009.gov starting Tuesday. The government also has set
up a 24-hour hotline to take requests, 1-888-DTV-2009 (1-888-388-2009).
Go there, sign up for a coupon, get 40 dollars from the govt. to buy
a converter box. And they're going on the honor system. So even if
you have satellite or Cable, you can still sign up to get a coupon.
