You could, unless they're the kind that come in plastic casings you remove. Italian sausage does come in bulk form. That would be what you want.

Hi, In what forms does Italian sausage come in? I wanted to use it in a lasagna I'm planning to make, but when I went to the frocery stores, my only options were in a link form & there was ground Italian sausage, but I didn't like or want that, as it was Bob Evans, and I don't much care for that product line. I bought the links, but how will I use those? Can I basically shred them up myself & brown them with my ground round, before putting into the lasagna?
