I used to take it out and mix it with ground beef when doing meatballs or an Italian meatloaf; love it with tons of fennel; many do not care for the fennel, but to me, the more, the better the sausage tastes. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jan" <[email protected]>

Interesting. My family and then I always use it in the casings. We don't
use the ground sausage without the casings.

I have seen Italian sausage, ground like ground beef, without the
casings,
but when I can't get it, then I remove the casings and use the ground
product as needed.

Wonder why I couldn't get it in bulk? Do I have to ask for it
differently?

You could, unless they're the kind that come in plastic casings you
remove.
Italian sausage does come in bulk form. That would be what you want.

Subject: [CnD] Italian Sausage?

Hi,

In what forms does Italian sausage come in? I wanted to use it in a
lasagna
I'm planning to make, but when I went to the frocery stores, my only
options
were in a link form & there was ground Italian sausage, but I didn't
like
or
want that, as it was Bob Evans, and I don't much care for that
product
line.
I bought the links, but how will I use those? Can I basically shred
them
up
myself & brown them with my ground round, before putting into the
lasagna?

Claudia
