I  put a  plastic tray (a  large one with a  lip.) I  measure all 
ingredients on the tray and have the mixer bowl on the tray. Then I  put the 
mixer on the tray and beat the  batter . Next I  put the cake pans on the 
tray and distribute the batter between the pans.
It works for me and then the only thing I clean is the plastic tray.
