I live in the desert of S. CA. and I have my plane tied down outside and have never found any water in my gas. I am careful to make sure my gas caps have good cork gaskets and buy fuel only at reputable fueling stations. If you do get water in the gas there is a simple method of removing it. Put about a 60lb weight on the tail section where it joins the fuselage and insert a hose into the tank so that it reaches the farthest inboard corner of the wingtanks and siphon until you get only fuel. The weight on the tail should tip the tail down so you will get all the water out of the wing tank. The nose tank water should be drained at the fuel tester on the gascolater and drained until all water is drained.
