I love to fly at night!! I'll guarantee I don't keep my eyes glued on the instrument panel. If you are anywhere near people, the lights on the ground are a much better indication of where you are. If you have to rely on t&b and artificial horizon, you'd damn well better be instrument rated. Back when I knew how to fly, I wouldn't have ever relied only on instruments. And, as for flying into clouds; I tried that once. Scared the shi# out of me. I don't fly into clouds. I was with a commercial pilot once. He had 10,000 hours under his belt. We were in twin Aztec, headed for Vegas. He took that baby down to 800 agl to get under, rather than go into the clouds. Sometimes the stupidity of people comes out in these forums, but anyone doing cloud flying, or IFR for that matter, in a Coupe, is really letting it all out.
