Its because it's so much more feature rich than any other counter strike
game. Complicated games are going to require complicated management, and
the server files really aren't that hard to configure if you just pay
attention. The only thing I don't understand is requiring steam login to
update instead of using something like tf2's registration system, but I'm
sure they have some sort of reason for that as well.
