Writing is complete and proofing is in progress on the program manuals
for both the children's and teen's clubs for 2010. We thought we would
give you a taste of what's coming!

In the TRC Catch the Reading Express! programming manual, the elementary
chapter is focused on the various cars that make up the train, such as
the sleeper car, the animal car, the dining car and many other cars!
Chapters include:

* All Aboard! Stories about Trains - includes engineer's hat and
shoebox train crafts in addition to highlighting great books such as
Stormy's Hat: Just Right for a Railroad Man by Eric A Kimmel

* Stock Car: Stories about Animals - includes making an ocean diorama
complete with sea creature templates. Sharks and polar bears are also
featured in programs around the books Surprising Sharks by Nicola Davies
and Pair of Polar Bears by Joanne Ryder.

The teen manual, Within Arms Reach: The Future is Yours, promises to
deliver some excitement with the following:

* Anime Clubs & Cons - a chapter focused solely on creating anime clubs
and cons. Even Anahuac, Texas held an anime convention in May 2008
called "Ana-Con", so you can do it too!

* Teens love to dream, so one chapter is full of dream catchers, dream
lore and dream journals.

* The Let's Get Digital! chapter includes a how-to on a  Blogger
<http://www.blogger.com/> online photo gallery and encourages teens to
use some of the free online photoediting websites such as Picnik
<http://www.picnik.com> , Fotoflexer <http://www.fotoflexer.com%20> and
Lunapic <http://www.lunapic.com%20> .

Both programming manuals will be released online by February 1, 2010 and
will follow up with many posts before then so you know exactly where!
