Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
    Acts 10:34,37-43
    Psalm 118:1-2,16-17,22-23
    1 Corinthians 5:6-8
    John 20:1-9

A reflection on today's Scripture:

              The Lord has indeed risen!  Alleluia!
              Glory and kingship be his for ever and ever!

Yes, we rejoice in this saving Easter victory that Jesus has
accomplished for us. Victory over death; victory over the effects of
sin. Jesus as the new Adam, instead of bringing us a heritage of
death, has brought us life everlasting!

Let us take to heart the admonition of Paul to the Colossians: "Mind
the things that are above, not the things of the earth."  (Col 3:2)

How many times we have heard this advice! How many times has the lure
of the world deceived us. Let us hold the joy of Jesus' resurrection
from the dead - his victory over death and sin - closely in our
hearts. Let us remain steadfast in our joy and love of God!

              Alleluia!
              Christ our passover, has been sacrificed.
              Therefore let us keep festival.
              Alleluia!                              (1 Cor 5:7-8)

    O God our Father in Heaven,
         by raising Jesus your Son,
         you have vanquished the power of death
         and have provided for us the path to eternal life.
         Let our joyous celebration this day,
         raise us up and renew our lives
         by the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling within our hearts.
         Amen
