Hi David, Well, are you thinking of something like a 'Say hello to the new Sun Report Builder' (SRB) article? Maybe an introductory 2 paragraphs about the relationship between the Pentaho report engine used and the original work done by the OpenOffice developers. ( I note that people seem to get that relationship backwards often )
Timing wise, I am just starting work (first of next week) on a conversion project for a database currently using wizard generated reports and a form as a printable invoice, to use the SRB instead. The whole database application is in the public domain already and I could chronicle the creation of one or two of the reports for the article. I would do it on one condition: That you promise to ruthlessly edit the article to make up for my ineptitude in writing skills. What is your time frame for that first issue then? I have been following along in the mailing lists but didn't quite catch if you have a target set yet?
