As always the Jobs that require CF like skills (scripting) always suffer.
As you guys know its not rocket science to make a CFM page. What is difficult is writing Code that is : Organised / Readable & Re-usable. Mostly, when hiring we look for other Important skills, which any person off the street could not pick up easily (& therefore blag an interview) such as Java, OOP, Unix (simple tasks), SQL. These skills tend to separate the coders that have picked up CFM as they go along & those who are true professional coders.
