If the OOo project wishes to use our design for the new website, we will provide the complete, coded design (with valid XHTML/CSS). We provided the same for the PostgreSQL project - once the design was transformed into XHTML/CSS, it took one hour to change from the old design to the new one.
Just for the record, this is an excellent and extremely generous offer, which we should accept and put up as soon as possible.
Agreed.
What steps need to be taken, for Emily and Omar to have the appropriate web access to implement their design?
Would it take a new SourceCast instance (sc41.openoffice.org or similar), or is there something that can be put together that's more straightforward, etc?

Folks...I will need to defer to Louis on all this when he returns. Any of these folks would need cvs access *somehwere* which I don't know how to do, and we don't have an endless supply of development servers, only the one which will be going away soonish.
It's unfortuante that some of you feel the way you do about what's currently being developed...i.e. in terms of usability and some other considerations. I like what Emily has done, but again, I think everyone needs to understand that continuing to deal with who knows how many "new" and different designs won't get us very far. And, it's unfortunate that some of you feel it was reviewed by the *wrong* group, the PLs. I would ask that you review the discussion that happened in regard to this about a month or so ago.
We welcome all views and volunteers of course. The problem, with what's going on now, as with many other aspects in business and life, is that continually changing a goal doesn't lead to actually accomplishing anything in my experience.
I think Louis will be back around Monday. These requests will need to wait until then.
