Charles Daminato TUCOWS Product Manager It is my understanding that any domain name deleted within the 5 day grace period is released into the namespace immediately, not during some drop cycle, so I'm wondering how you account for these names?
**I'm not sure what needs to be accounted for. What we see is their *absence* from the Registry now where just after August 30 they had existed at the Registry. Now, we see that, having been "released into the namespace immediately," they are available. Perhaps I don't understand the question. TUCOWS could replicate the same information by checking its registry logs and finding that Aug30-purged names that OpenSRS showed as being registered on August 30-Sept. 3 or so are no longer registered.
