Business Group
Intel’s Digital Home Group (DHG) is powering a new vision of television. As
Intel's consumer platform group, DHG’s mission is to be the #1 platform
supplier to IP-connected Consumer Electronics (CE) market segments. As part of
this charter DHG is proliferating the next generation connected entertainment
experience on Intel Architecture based system on a chip (SoC) products. These
products are optimized for a new generation of set-top boxes, media players and
TVs as well as discrete products (processors, chipsets, demodulators and
tuners) for Internet-enabled CE devices devices that will deliver a rich user
experience across a variety of consumer devices in the home. In August 2008 DHG
introduced the Intel Media Processor CE 3100, the first in a new family of
purpose-built SOCs for CE devices based on Intel Architecture. On the same day,
Intel and Yahoo! Inc. previewed plans for the Widget Channel, a TV application
framework optimized for TV and related CE devices that use the Intel
Architecture. Intel's comprehensive family of platform solutions for CE is
complemented by tuners, demodulators and front-end reference designs for
digital TV. The key to DHG’s success is in our people. We have over 800
passionate employees around the world that bring our products and our vision to
fruition.
