I think we have the following constraints (based on discussions at the TSC
and another separate chat I had last Wednesday with Ray Paik and Casey):
- We cannot have just following the ONS due to Passover Friday March 30
to Saturday April 7 during which some members cannot attend. Also Friday
March 30 is not available at the venue.
- We cannot have DDF during the Monday-Tuesday of the ONS week - due to
the LFN cross collaboration
- Sunday March 25 is available and LFN would be able to arrange rooms
for the DDF
- Other days like Daniel's suggestion Thursday-Friday March 18-19 in Los
Angeles or somewhere else
- an appropriate venue at appropriate price would need to be found
- Folks traveling from abroad may not have the approval for an over
the weekend stay.
- Also folks coming for ONS as well may find it hard to stay from
Thursday March 18 to Thursday March 29
Given these constraints - do we still want to pursue another option
(Thursday-Friday March 18-19) compared to Sunday March 25?
Please voice your opinions soon. Otherwise the original decision of Sunday
March 25 would stand. As Luis mentioned - we would need to start booking
travel.
