Have you ever looked into real whole-house audio solutions? They've been around for decades and if you live in an 82 room mansion, they don't require 82 synchronized Squeezeboxes and 82 stereo amplifiers. For areas like bathrooms and hallways, you'd have a couple of ceiling or in-wall speakers and a volume control, fed from a central source and amplifier. Most systems would also let you switch sources from a control panel. If you have a Controller or iPhone/iPod Touch you could control the centrally located Squeezebox (or two or three) to select your music from anywhere in the house.
