I agree with the sentiments re. cleaning down the menus to just the
important stuff.

Also, if you make changes (adding plugins etc.), ensure that you've
thoroughly tested them before the next time your partner uses it. It
can (understandably) be a complete pain if he/she goes to use something
that was working fine yesterday, but now comes up with some weird error
message (or does nothing). A response of "Oh yeah - I was just tweaking
this but it didn't quite work out how I planned" can easily put someone
off a gadget.
