Yeah, sadly that is the only way i know of doing things. It's not pretty but it is doable if you don't mind a lot of fingerwork. I happen to prefer commandlines so this is a major showstopper for me. That and the keymap thing. The keymap thing is even worse though and Apple Accessibility was silent when I sent mail about those issues. So, for me at least, OS X is still on my test box rather than being the production machine.
