rockbox will probably see the files.

Tim, you are correct, although you can copy files to the Ipod in
disk- mode, the Ipod will not see them in its database because in
order to get there, Itunes has to include it and that is the
program that controls the database.
This is the problem and if Itunes were accessible, it would make
it much easier to work with an Ipod, but of course if the Ipod
itself were accessible, it would help quite a bit. You know a
little Tiger running on it with VO would be the way to go. grin
