I had my drive checked at a local PC store today. One of the tech guys there
is a Mac addict (he just got one of the new multiprocessor G4s). He told me
the drive was fine. He also told me that it wasn't formatted (or was that
initialized?) which might be the reason the 2300 couldn't recognize the
drive. He wasn't real sure as he didn't have many opportunities to work with
PowerBooks. Obviously he knows where the real money is, fixing Wintel
machines!
Does this sound logical to anyone? Should the drive have been formatted
(initialized) first before it would be recognized? Well, I'll find out
tonight when I try installing it one more time. It's my last hope.
Thanks again for all previous help everyone provided.
