I would try it without any jumpers whatsoever. When I removed the 1.2 GB
drive from my 2300c, I tried the new drive with the jumper installed and
had no luck. It worked like a charm when I took it off. Mine was laready
formatted, etc, but silverlining should work. I would download a copy of
the 8.1 disk tools disk image from the apple web site and start up off of
that and use silverlining. Try doing it out of the dock if possible to
eliminate any possible problems.
