Could you elaborate a little bit more on resetting the Power Manager?
Specially if it reduces the state of confusion about the battery's charge, I
think I'd like to know more.
BTW, I think it's unfortunate that there isn't any archive for this mailing
list. I wouldn't have pounded the list so heavily with my problem if there
would have been some information somewhere I could have read. For instance,
I've checked Apple technical notes and their technical exchange forum, but I
couldn't read a single message talking about using a type of NiMH battery in
a computer that wasn't initially designed to handle it.
Anyway, I have Battery Amnesia, but I can't use it since I can't run off the
battery. As soon as I unplug the computer, it just turns off. Or if I try to
restart without the adapter plugged in, it won't start at all.
So, if you can point me to some documentation about how to reset the
PowerManager, I would certainly give it a try. As I said, this 280c was used
and, even if it seems to have been well taken care of, I don't know how it's
been treated. The only thing I know is that the battery that came with it
was completely dead, beyond any recovery. But that, the seller did make it
known before the transaction occured.
