Okay, I am very appreciative of all of the responses I have gotten to this irritating problem. Here is my status thus far: I received my adapter with all fifteen pins. It doesn't work thus far with my 1710AV and the 2400c. Both screens are black. I used this adapter with an Apple Performa Plus Display and it worked. A friend then brought over his 3400c. He also brought a PowerBook video adapter with the second pin in the middle row missing. No go with the AppleVision and 2400c. I then hooked my adapter up and plugged it into the 3400c. It worked immediately with his computer, no problem. It both mirrored and acted as a single monitor. I then took Chuck Goolsbee's advice and set the resolution, contrast, brightness, etc and plugged back into the 2400c. No go. Next, I removed the battery, and shutdown the 2400. I left it all unpowered for four and a half hours. Powered back up, still no go. However, there is a displacement of all of the icons on the 2400's desktop, suggesting a resolution switch. I am at a complete loss for what might be wrong here. I have no idea what it is that I am missing. I don't think I need an adapter with dip switches, as my adapter powered the Performa display, and my adapter worked with the 3400c (which has the same video architecture.) I am willing to try one. At this point I am willing to try anything. There are no TV shops in the hole that I live in, at least not with the know how to get this working. Should I reinstall OS 9.0.4? Do I need a mirroring control panel like (v. 7.5.2) or some other piece of software? If anyone has an idea of what I should do, I am more than receptive. I have too much money wrapped up in this to just give up. Thanks again for all the help. Hopefully a resolution (no pun intended) will be reached.
