Okay, here it comes again.

Last night, I installed a fresh OS 9.0 system folder to try out the monitor.
While started up from the CD, the monitor did not work. It also didn't work
with the brand new install (including every video related extension that I
felt applicable.) Next, thanks to Jose's incredible advice (much thanks, it
was above and beyond) I tried starting while holding down option + command +
a + v. This did rebuild the desktop, but the monitor still didn't work.
So, after a wonderful evening of switching system folders, holding keys,
etc, I am right back where I started.

My next thoughts are: Should I install OS 8.6 or even 8.1 and utilize an
old copy of the AppleVision software. It wouldn't make much sense that OS 9
wouldn't support a monitor that previous systems did, but stranger things
have happened. Additionally, the 3400c was running 8.0 when the 1710AV
actually functioned. However, unless by a strange coincidence, I don't
think the 3400 had any of the AppleVision software installed, so the
software seems kinda worthless.

Anyways, there it is. Hopefully you guys have your thinking caps on for
this one.

Nick
