I use the usb memory stick here and Ive finally got in the habit of backing up my stuff at least every 2 weeks and I try to do every week. I always back up my log and ref files before i make any changes as Ive lost some contacts by messing around !.. As far as my other programs go there isnt anything here on this machine thats too important . The only thing I cant stand to loose is my DxBase stuff.. Dave N8DC

Lets not forget, the thread is about DXbase backup, not protecting your whole hard drive. Accessory programs - unnecessary. My old method: hunt & peck for the 14 or 15 critical files - too time consuming. MS-Backup: gimme a break :) Solution: Use a USB memory stick. Navigate to your DXbase folder; Right-click on the folder, there will be an option "send to USB Memory". Just copy the whole folder.....easy. USB2.0 protocol will do it in under 30seconds Want a little more security over your data, have 2 USB drives and alternate between them each time you do a backup. IMHO...........keep it simple, cheers David VE3VID Located in rural Canada Solar power. Wood heat.
