Not wanting to flog a dead horse, but...

As far as I know, Drummond is the only company doing certification.  If it's 
Drummond certified, your TP should not have a problem.

When Walmart rolled out AS2, almost ALL the AS2 software companies gave away 
free (or almost) copies of their software.  iSoft, bTrade, etc...  
They were probably hoping to hook lots of people, so that they were committed 
when they needed to add another partner or required maintenance.  It's called a 
'loss leader' in the grocery business.

No.  The cost of certification is just like any other cost.  It's used to 
determine profitability.  If you expect to sell a LOT of copies, then you can 
make it very inexpensive and still make money.  Spread over 1,000 copies, the 
$50,000 certification works out to $50 per copy.
