I agree with Dave, although unlike him, I have ordered a K4, on the "no deposit" plan, so I'm not out any money.  Of course, no one is actually out of money, other than the opportunity cost, if they chose to bail out.

I sympathize with Elecraft's plight, but issues have plagued everyone and one would think that a company that manufactures communication equipment would communicate with their customer base.  Of course, they aren't expected to advertise every problem in their business activity, but frequent tidbits would keep the faithful happy.

Frankly, I got tired of waiting and wondering, and wanting at least one new radio before I croak, bought a TS-890.  Shortly after I did a fire in one of Kenwood's semiconductor suppliers plant stalled their deliveries.  But they announced this, found a workaround and began deliveries again, albeit at a $500 price increase.  Will I still buy a K4?  I dunno but I'm still an Elecraft fan with a K3, K3S, Kpod, KPA500 and KAT500, the latter two work well with the Kenwood.

Uhh .. I'm not the one doing the whining.  The guys who post here asking when they might actually know when they will get their K4 are the ones you should maybe be accusing.  I'm just making an outsider observation on their behalf.

Besides, this isn't a marketing issue.  It's a simple communications issue, and like I said ... if we can hear about QRP contacts and pedestrian mobile contacts, the folks who actually invested interest-free money for the last 20 months or so probably have a right to equal consideration.
