Bill - Thanks for the tip! �I've done this, and the sound appears now in the list of system alert sounds, but Emailer doesn't seem to see it, even after rebooting. �
Not a biggie, really, since with AOL "Reading 1 of 0" glitch we've "got mail" every time we connect, even if it's just the dummy piece of mail we keep resending back to ourselves (via a mail action) to avoid the error message and related timeout. A more subtle sound (or none at all) is probably the better option at this point.
