I'm not sure I agree that education is the end all to our problems. Although maybe it is, and like you said, it is just "improper" education that is the source of the problem now. That is education that lacks understanding that humans, as much as we would like to deny it, have and act on instincts every day. And if we are to solve all the worlds problems, we have to understand these instincts, and learn to work with them, not against them. Like for instance, humans are social, xenophobic creatures. That is, we desire to be in groups just like ourselves, and we tend to dislike and fear any group that isn't our group. As such, we easily develop "mob" mentality. And like most social orders, there will be a limited number of Alpha's in the group, who will use fear and intimidation to maintain their place of power. And you really can simplify just about every human action, down to the desire to fulfill two basic needs. In order: preservation of self, preservation of the species. People strive to make sure they have what they need to survive. Once that is fulfilled, they strive to make sure they have what the need to attract and mate with another so the species can survive. You work so you can earn money so you can keep a roof over your head and food in your stomach. Once that is fulfilled, you attempt to get a better job so you can afford luxury items, because luxury means you are socially fit for self survival. Social self survival is important to females because it means any offspring will have a good chance of living a long healthy life. Physical well being, which most males will strive for (although in the US, most will also fail, but ask them, and they will all tell you they *wish* they were better), is important to females because physical well being means any offspring will have a better chance of being healthy and live a good long life. And the two DO NOT have to be in the same mate, and it is much more usual then people would expect to find the two being provided by different mates. (there are even valid arguments that would say humans do not instinctively mate for life) Women work, to earn money, to put a roof over their head and food in their stomach (or attach themselves to a male that can provide the same... which is still work, just of a different kind). Once that is fulfilled, they strive to be better so they can afford luxury because luxury allows for "primping" (buying nice clothes, dieting, makeup, hair, baubles). This primping will help attract males. The more males that can be attracted, the better chance a female has of finding ones that fit the two above needs. I'll stop here, as any more will start getting WAY WAY off topic. And I know there are males and females on this list thinking I'm entirely wrong. And that's fine, I might very well be. But before you shoot off a flaming reply to me... stop and think about what you do during the day, and deep down inside, WHY do you do it. Really think, what is the reason you do everything you do during the day. Not "because it makes me feel good", but WHY does it make you feel good.
