The other possible limiting factor is the age of the phone lines in the neighborhood and the (land-line) distance to the nearest substation. In our rural location, I was stuck for years at 28K because of the awkward old phone lines and being too far away. (Now we get DSL.) There isn't anything you can do about the above, though you might call the phone company and chat with them about it. In the meantime, one thing that helped me a lot was to keep my system as speedy and optimized as I could get it. Faster hard drive, for example, really helped speed up the pokey work (some of the delay was at my end, in other words). Check to see if there's anything like that you could do-- make sure you have plenty of memory assigned to any apps you're using, etc etc. Maybe upgrade to 9.1? I don't know iMacs--maybe there's a cache chip you could upgrade?? In any case do some disk maintanence so it hums along as best it can. --Anna ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
