No one has said the Intel Macs will be able to run Windows. This is another misconception. People here "Intel" and think "Generic PC". That is NOT what Apple is doing. Apple is only changing to Intel CPU's and other chip sets. They are still planning to design their own computer. The Intel Mac will NOT be a generic PC, and will most probably not run Windows out of the box (at least not in the beginning). In fact, Phil Schiller has publically said that getting Windows to run on an Intel Mac is not something Apple is planning to do. He said someone else may come along and try to do it, so it isn't going to say it will never happen, but it isn't something Apple is doing. (He then went on to say that Apple WILL be doing everything they can to prevent OS X from running on Generic PCs). >It might be piling it up pretty deep, but wouldn't it theoretically work? Yes, but it won't require Windows. There is a Mac on Linux project that already exists. That could be ported to OS X and used directly in OS X. There are also other early Mac emulators available for multiple platforms, including the Mac (I've used one to run some System 6 apps that just don't run under OS 9 correctly any more). -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
