Don's approach does seem reasonable _if_ you build a simple R-L network to
provide some impedance to the power mains.  A good stiff supply might make a
product look pretty good.  Another thought is to look at the mains supply
current for bumps and calculate what voltage would be created across the
standard impedance.

A very rough guide might be to observe the 230 V  on the mains and see if
your product causes it to dip a few volts momentarily (or do an analysis to
determine worst case dip and frequency of dip).  If it doesn't dip at all,
you have no need to measure per 6.1.

If the mains voltage does dip, you need to worry about dmax, d(t), dc at a
minimum; if it dips repetitively you also need to be concerned about Plt and
Pst.

Forum, does this sound like a reasonable approach?
