At the end of the day you do what you like - not all adhere to the proportions of the symbol either - I agree with you, but bottom line is what the directive and standards say......................

The manufacturer WANTS the CE mark to be visible, to fend off the Customs and market surveillance people. So there is NO incentive to make it illegibly small.
