I'm stunned by this Mr. Bilton's cavalier attitude about other people's time
and money, and maybe even more stunned at how little time or research he did
before declaring that the whole thing would just be really simple and
everything.

"To keep things moving, the airlines could team up and each make a single plane
available for say, one day a month, until the testing is done. And the device
and software makers, many with very deep pockets, could foot the bill. Any
device maker who doesn't contribute financially to the testing won't be added
to the new updated list of approved electronics devices on planes."

I hope he doesn't get paid to write because I would expect much more from a
paper written by a middle school student. His main point for the article is
lost in his glaring self centeredness and impatience and his stunning
oversimplification of the time, effort, and money required to save him 10-20
minutes of E-reading time.

Pretend to be asleep for the minutes between the aircraft door closing and
10,000 feet. It's refreshing for you, an possibly whoever is stuck next to you.

Subject: [PSES] New immunity testing by the FAA in the future?

Almost sounds like a whole new industry -- the business of testing
aircraft for immunity to personal electronic devices:
