Dig into the control panel on the mill. It may be an RS232 device. That's what I found on the panel on the Anilam Crusader M system which was on my mill made in 1990. I had plans to connect the panel to a serial port and fit an LCD in place of the CRT in the original control box, but someone wanted to give me money for the panel... Now I have a nice 800x600 LCD touch screen with Linux drivers for the digitizer. That will fit in the old control box, with room beneath for an e-stop button and other things.
