Hi

I dont know about the Database Daemon. Apparently it just went on hold when I went to the finder. After a few clicks of Entourage it finally came back to the front and finished importing.

The import has apparently worked, and the email from the account I wanted to move is now nested down a few folders, which is fairly inconvenient, but at least it is there. (i think--I have to check it folder by folder, which is a chore)

Yes, the permissions varied. After moving the Main Identity from where it was, I didnt know that I had to change the permissions and ownership to the new account. I will now try that and see if that solves the problem. The exporting/importing method is not how I would like it to end up.

thanks for your help.

Hi

There are not two computers. I am simply trying to get an entourage
identity from one Mac System X to another account on the same
machine. This should be such a simple operation. I have been at it
now for 3 hours today and finally I got it to start importing, but
for some reason the importing has stopped about 3/4 through because I
went to the finder briefly and now I am stuck, with a partial import.

Did you kill the Database Daemon before copying the MUD folder or the
identity folder? If Database Daemon was running, then you may not have
gotten a good copy because of the database being open.

Did you copy it or move it? If you moved it and didn't kill the Database
Daemon, then it might have a problem because of two different accounts
trying to access it simultaneously. Regardless of whether it was copied or
moved, is the ownership on the files and folders correct?
