The Database Daemon is responsible for checking the health of your Entourage
database in the background and alerting you to potential problems if it
finds any. It's also responsible for generating the Spotlight cache files so
that your email messages will be searchable under Spotlight.

It's a health and maintenance tool. Unless you find that it's causing you
problems then just leave it alone. I believe it will restart when Entourage
is next launched.

Hope this helps! bill
