Hi Thomas,

If you use a grid screen, then you should not need a split-image aid!

You should be able to use the grids on the screen as a multi-cross pattern
for reticle focussing.  The technique for reticle focussing, as used in
photomicrography and astrophotography, is noted on the T90 "Double
Crosshair Reticle" description:

I find that the Elan 7E AF boxes (lighted or not) can be used as a
reticle for the "head-shaking" method of focussing.

At least, that's partly rationalization for buying a camera that
does not offer the option of a grid or split-image screen :-(
