Could be. One potential problem with UV filters is that when shooting a
light source (OK, I know the moon isn't really a source, but you know what I
mean), the light's reflection off the front element of the lens can be
reflected back into the lens by the inner surface of the filter. In
cinematography, some matte boxes have the ability to tilt one or more of the
filters to help control this.
This is likely to be more of a problem with lenses that have fairly flat
front elements.
