Hi Jakob.

I don't know anything about the 620. But I've had the same problem with two
Rebel 2000s. The first one died that way the day I got it before the end of
the first roll of film. Its replacement worked fine for 2 years. But it was
my backup camera and rarely got used. A few weeks ago I took it out of the
cabinet to test it out and it was dead with the same symptoms. It probably
had 10 rolls of film through it.

I've tried various brands of batteries, with the battery grip, without the
battery grip. With Canon lenses, with 3rd party lenses, and with no lens. No
luck with it.
