Hi Gerard,

I think you misunderstood. I was writing about the removing
and extending back of the LENS, not the extension tube.

I suspect there is a flexible circuit connection leading from
the EF lens contacts and between the various lens motors. See:

But your idea of making a tilting bellows with the extension
tubes is also interesting.  It would work if you could remove
the spring couplings
