There's just one problem here... the plastic mould in between is used & needed
to keep the spring-loaded connectors for the electronic coupling in place.
Placing the two mounts together will make a good mechanical extension tube, but
given the inability of the EF lenses of mechanically stopping down, it will be
of no practical use.

What about a custom tilt extension tube? It has to be great to control
perspective in macro work!. Replacing the connections at both sides for
something flexible should be possible I guess, and then cutting some old bellows
and playing Frankenstein for a while should be fun... but not within 12mm, my
shot is that at least the 25mm is needed.

If one day I find a forgotten extension tube in one of those photo markets ....
