As a former owner of this lens, I can say that it's a great lens... I sold mine
because I didn't use it much after I got a s/h 200/2.8L (1st gen). Now I only have
three lenses: the 20-35/2.8L, the 50/1.4 (wich could just as well have been an L,
based on it's wonderfull performance), and the 200/2.8L... I'm hooked on "L"s, but
there are non-"L" lenses that perform really well too...
