Thanks to everyone for their opinions. It seems that the IIe may not be a
bad choice at all. I have seen the technical specs of IIe as well as 7e, and
read some reviews of IIe as well, besides everything on the 7e. The IIe
focusses at one stop lower light and has an IR assist. Since I will mostly
do landscape/macro, AF speed or servo speed are of less importance to me.

How about 1) construction. Is the mirror mechanism well damped like the 7e?

2) metering accuracy. The 7e has 35-zone metering against IIe's 6-zone. I do
not think the former spells more accuracy because of that, but what is the
user experience? How a the E-TTL flash metering in both cameras?

3) build quality?

4) Do people find the 3 sensors insufficient? I mean, is 7 sensors a big
usability boost?

Any other serious deficiencies in IIe that I will face and best avoided
through the 7e?

Regards
Sanjay
