Having decided that I shall eventually go digital, it doesn't seem a good idea to invest in a film scanner for my old slides and negatives. Has anyone tried a recent flatbed, such as the Canon 8000F, for film scanning. How good are the results, and is it a viable alternative to a film scanner. I realise that this is very subjective, and obviously a good film scanner is better, but how would it compare with a cheaper film scanner, such as the Prime, or similar.
