I'm 41. While I might have to wait a while (don't laugh... I'm betting no more than 18 months) for a full-frame digital EOS SLR at my desired price point (thank God for economies of scale), and might miss some good digital camera work, I won't be missing ANY good digital imaging. I'll continue with my EOS film bodies and scanning the film, making quality digital images and prints. Scanning film was good enough for the late, great Galen Rowell, with whom I was lucky enough to have spoken face to face (I've also got one of his archival dye-transfer prints, shot with film, on my living room wall). And I'll get the maximum angle of view from my wide-angle lenses while I wait, unlike those who require the latest and greatest just because it is the latest and greatest. If I absolutely need a digital body for a job, I can always rent one or break down and buy one; I have enough cash flow to do that. I clearly see the benefits of full digital shooting and workflow and intend to go that way, but with the current state of the economy, I can't rationalize paying so much more (for full-frame sensor) to get the same results that I already get, especially when I can pass along film processing costs to clients. A little more expense, effort, and time, to stay with film for now. But my parents, having been raised during the Great Depression, taught me the value of thrift and delayed gratification.
