I will admit that there maybe somethings I don't
understand about the optical behavior of the new
smaller optical circle lenses used in digital cameras,
such as depth of field. However, I am not stupid
regarding terms like "full-frame". My comment was
aimed at the fact that this is a relative term based
on the historically standardized size of an image on a
roll of plastic film. Someone 10-12 years old now who
buys a camera in three to five years may not have any
idea what "full frame" means when everything is
digital just as a vinyl 33rpm LP is a museum piece to
younger kids. They put 35mm lens equivalent focal
lengths on the front of digital cameras for old fogies
in my age bracket but 5-10 years from now it won't
mean anything.

You also stated you were willing to switch systems
(brands) in order to acquire your nirvana of a
"full-frame" digital camera for a particular price
point level. This usually means you buy lenses to
match the brand of the body.
