To Tom and the group,

I bought an 80mm Hartblei tilt/shift lens, hoping I could get back some view camera movements which I lost when I converted to digital.

The Hartblei is an interesting lens, a medium format optic in a Dr. Frankenstein mount. It seems as sharp, and has better light coverage than my 100mm macro. But whatever DoF I seem to gain with a lens swing, I lose with the limited f22 minimum aperture. In other words, my 100mm macro at f29 or f32 is sharper overall than the Hartblei swung at f22.

I was an instant digital enthusiast after seeing the first few images from my 1Ds. But when it comes to close, technical photography, I miss the flexibility of my view cameras.

They wouldn't work.

What kind of manual lens are you trying to use with the tubes?
